Faith Formation
Our Faith Formation programming includes Christian education, but it goes beyond the traditional notion of Christian education. Whereas Christian education involves imparting upon someone knowledge and teachings about scripture and Christianity, which is of course important; Faith Formation includes teaching that knowledge and adds to it how that faith can change your life in very real and positive ways, how to deepen your spirituality, how to live a life as a disciple of Jesus Christ, and lead you to understand how God is using you to make a positive difference in the world.
Faith Formation is a life-long journey, and we offer Faith Formation opportunities for persons of all ages. You are welcome and invited to join us on this journey.

Exploring Faith Series
Begins on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 9:15am
This six week series will address some of the basics of our Christian faith. For those looking to learn more about Christ Church and the United Church of Christ - this is the class for you. This is also the class we encourage new members or those considering membership to take as the new member class. However, there is no pressure or obligation to join after participating in this class. If you can only make some of the classes in the series that is ok.
This class is generally offered twice a year. We invite you to check back here to find out when the next class will be, or let us know of your interest by calling or e-mailing the church office and we will contact you when the next class is scheduled.
Preregistration is not required - you will most certainly be welcomed. It is helpful for us to know in advance how many people are coming, so that we can be sure to have enough materials for everyone. Confirmation Class
The recommended age for beginning Confirmation is 8th grade. We welcome new students as young as 7th grade and as old as 20 years old.
This upcoming year's confirmation program begins on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 6:00-7:30pm. The first class is for both students and their
parent(s)/guardian(s).
You can enroll at any time between now and then by contacting the church office. We encourage you to enroll by the beginning of August, to help ensure we have enough materials for each student by the first day of class.

Communion Classes
Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 9:15am - 7th Grade & Older

Communion Classes are generally held in January and February on Sundays at 9:15am for youth and children who have not yet completed confirmation. For a copy of our Children and Communion Booklet, please contact the church office.

In order to provide the best possible program for our community, we participate in a combined VBS program with Good Shepherd UCC in Tuckerton, alternating locations from year to year. In 2007 we were at Christ Church UCC's facility; in 2008 we will be at Good Shpherd UCC's facility.
